Last Farm Standing on Buttermilk Hill
Voelcker Roots Run Deep in Hardberger Park

Last Farm Standing on Buttermilk Hill

Coker Cemetery has a rich history. You will find many familiar family names on the cemetery headstones: Jones, Maltsberger, Isom, Sandau, Gordon and Voelcker just to name a few. Max and Minnie Voelcker, the former owners of land where the new Hardberger Park is located, are buried at Coker. Gayle Brennan Spencer was commissioned by the Voelcker Estate to write the book, “The Last Farm Standing on Buttermilk Hill” chronicling the lives of Max and Minnie Voelcker. The book includes many stories about Coker Community. The Voelcker Trust has donated copies of the book to the Coker Cemetery Association for use as a fundraiser and copies are available for a donation of $25 plus $5 per book for shipping and handling. Please complete the order form below and send a check or money order made payable to “Coker Cemetery Association” to get your copy(s) now. Every member of your family should have one. They make great Christmas or birthday gifts! Send your order in now to:
