Coker Cemetery Annual Meeting

Program: Butch Gerfers - Coker Community PowerPoint Presentation &
Gayle Brennan Spencer – Coker Book

Details: Coker Community, has a rich history. You will find many familiar family names on the cemetery headstones: Jones, Maltsberger, Isom, Sandau, Gordon and Voelcker just to name a few. Butch Gerfers will have a presentation with some interesting stories and little known facts about Coker Community.

Gayle Brennan Spencer, author of Last Farm Standing on Buttermilk Hill, will bring us an update on her current project, a book about the Coker Settlement. She will share one of those sensational stories gleaned from newspapers about an unsolved murder on the settlement. You won’t want to miss this meeting. If you haven’t met Gayle or shared your “historical treasures” with her, bring them (or copies of them) to the meeting. She will also be available to sign copies of Last Farm Standing on Buttermilk Hill during the dessert time before the meeting. Bring your copy for her to sign or copies are still available from:
