Program: A History of the Timberwood Park area

Details: Local historian David Barkalow has done extensive research on the Timberwood Park area in Northern Bexar County. He has located and identified the area where Clint and Jeff Smith were captured by the Indians as told about in the book The Boy Captives. David has a very interesting program about the Smith brothers, the Friesenhahn Cave, the filming of the movie Wings, (the winner of the first Academy Award for Best Picture in 1929) and the Gerfers Ranch. You won’t want to miss this program.

David has recently had an article published by the Texas State Historical Association about the Timberwood Park area. [click here to see the article]
