JAMES "JAMEY' EDWARD BILLINGSLEY, JR.

James “Jamey” Edward Billingsley, Jr. passed away on March 2, 2023, in Decatur, Texas. He was 57.

James was born in San Antonio, Texas, on August 10, 1965, to James Edward Billingsley, Sr. and Mary Louise Harvey Billingsley.

James began school in Van Horn, Texas. While in high school, he played football, performed on the trombone in band and was an actor in the Drama program at the high school in a performance category called the One Act Play. This high school play made it to the State Finals and won best 2AA in the One Act Play category. James was awarded Best Overall Performer for his role as Tevya in “Tevya And His Daughters”. He earned a BA at Abilene Christian University, Abilene, Texas in 1989. He enlisted in the United States, Navy, and served 20 years. He won many medals among which was the Air Medal for his part in air operations over Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1993.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Louise Billingsley and his son, Aleksander.

He is survived by his wife, Amy Spetsios Billingsley, his son, Addison, his daughter, Jordan and their mother, Kimberley McFarlin Billingsley; his father, James E. Billingsley, Sr. and wife, Sharon; his sister, Mary “Margie” Carrillo and her husband, David Carrillo; along with many Aunts, Uncles, Nephews, Grandnephews, Cousins and close friends. Jamey was beloved by many and will be greatly missed.
